Vote No to a Constitutional Convention this Tuesday

Thursday, November 2, 2017

On Tuesday New Yorkers from across the state are going to the polls to vote on whether New York should hold a Constitutional Convention. IBEW 1249 is asking that all members Vote No on this proposition. This is not a Republican or Democratic issue, this is an issue of protecting many of the laws and rights that we have fought so hard for. Groups from across the political spectrum, like unions and gun advocates have united together to oppose the convention. Below I have included a video that explains the danger of a Constitutional Convention. While New York is a strong union state, there are not enough of us to defeat the Constitutional Convention alone. That is why I need all of  you to speak to your friends, family and neighbors about the importance of voting No. Below I have included a great informational video that you can share on Facebook and Twitter, as well as a flyer that maps out some of the most common issues that people are talking about in regards to the Constitutional Convention. Please take a look at these and remember to head to the polls on Tuesday November 7th and Vote No. If you are on the road and filed for an absentee ballot, please make sure you fill it out and have it postmarked by November 6th.
